Workshop Purpose
Challenge personal and systemic assumptions about disability.
Examine the impact of these assumptions
Identify first step toward becoming anti-ableist.
Topics We’ll Explore
This session will include discussions related to:
Disability and disability justice
Accessibility
Ableism and audism
Inclusion, exclusion and bias
Disability joy and community
How We’ll Learn Togteher
We’ll use a range of facilitation tools to support different learning styles and foster engagement:
Presentation-style facilitation
Movie clips
Self-reflection exercises
Group discussions and breakouts
Storytelling through facilitation
Interactive web-based collaboration via Mentimeter (access code provided during the session; can be accessed via smartphone, tablet, or computer)
Accessibility and Comfort
There will be 1 scheduled break, and you're welcome to care for your needs at any time during our time together.
You may be invited to move around the space (participation is optional).
